Stories open doors to a mystical and forgotten world. Where heroes fought the impossible and magic was used to justify their victories. This is the way I feel about using technology in my work. This piece is built on seemingly impossible ideas coming possible, challenging the viewers to confront the impossible in their everyday lives.
xThe power of virtual reality (VR) is command of presence, the ability to transport the viewer into another world and have him feel present. Winter Every Day is an immersive Virtual Reality experience placed in Suomenlinna,an unique island and Unesco world heritage site. It aims to bring the sense of winter to the spectator in a very particular way. What does the Finnish winter in Suomenlinna feel like? What stories does this island hold? By using different aesthetic and techniques this work dislocates, reinterprets and recreates reality.
xTraditionally communication involves more than just words: through our body language and the tone of our voice we transmit emotion and additional information. This installation explores how communication in the digital age is influenced by the methods we use. Visitors can interact in only two ways with the tiger: colors or emojis.
xMemo Planting means planting your own memory. After inputting some key memories, the processing system generates a unique tree to represent your life. The patterns include stories from Asia and Europe and viewers can interpret these in different ways. The structure of the tree is based on how many magic moments you had in your life.
xA little piece of Helsinki, piece of you and me. Feel a moment, beat of the city under your feet and hear a story, walk a little path. An interactive poem installation, a kiss from Helsinki.
xThis is a collection of lights in a glass jar from the Finnish aurora, lake, snow and forest. Cover the jar with your hands and feel the light! The color and movement of the lights represent characteristics of each nature: the dynamic green light in the night sky and the sparkling waters of a lake.
xThe work is a quest for a feeling among the materials, shapes and colours it comes in. What - when - where is happiness? Is it in our memories, as a conscious flow, or is it rather in the textures traced within our senses while living it and ever after?
Within is an interpassive experience, created to dare anyone to live another’s happiness as his/her own.
